Why this profession?
Personal contact with your customers and the joy after you put their body decorations in gives me a lot of satisfaction.
How or from whom did you learned the skills?
21 years ago I got in touch with Drs. F. Jack, he was cultural anthropologist and had much research into the origin of the piercing done. He was owner of a piercing shop in Utrecht (NL) at the time and gave a "Care of a piercing course" together with a friend who was surgeon at the AMC hospital. The practice was, in particular, done by the surgeon and I learned a lot about the human body, bacterias, and inflammation.

The first piercing was a belly button piercing
Who or what inspires you?In particular in the initial period, Drs. F. Jack inspired me
Can you tell us something about your studio/work place ?
We have chosen for a easy accessible possible studio.
Often you see that tattoo and piercing Studios are and look dark, many people who are already tense find it difficult to walk in. Our studio has more of a doctors//dentist practice look, light bright and clean.
What type of piercing do you prefer? I don't have a preference for a piercing, any piercing to make someone happy any place whatsoever.
What is the best piece of advice you ever got when you started out and think it would help other starters in this industry?
Especially do not try out or start with complete sets from China and by watching youtube movies
It's really very important that you learn the skills from someone with experience.
Before you know it someone runs around with an ugly scar
Do you have a nice or weird experience as a piercer you'd like to share with us? There was once a boy coming in the shop which had three nipples. I didn't know what I saw but under his right nipple he had a third nipple. He wanted that nipple pierced!
Does your work involve more than just piercing?Next to piercing we offer tattoo and we have the ability to remove tattoos by laser.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
We are super pleased with how it is now, and hope we will be still pleased over 5 years
